Description |
This photo shows a survey being undertaken to find a passage
into a safe hurricane refuge when hurricane "Upia" threatened to
come our way. We used a lead line to take soundings and the GPS
to record the position of each sounding. This would enable us to
get into the safety of the mangroves day or night if the cyclone
arrived. Chris (yacht Rocard) is on the lead line whilst
Rod (yacht Peer Gynt II) logs the depth readings against
the GPS position. |
