We have now sold Rocard. Our buyer came through onpassage.com, and in fact we have had several enquiries via your website, and generally the right type of person - wanting to go long distance cruising etc etc.
We have had the boat with a broker for over two years without a sensible offer, so it was nice to finally get some serious interest.
I think it is pretty hard for a broker to sell a boat like Rocard unless they have a good understanding of the systems aboard dedicated to cruising, so a website like yours is pretty good for both parties, the seller can gauge what level of interest the buyer has, and the buyer receives hard facts on which to judge the boat.
It is also easier for the seller to help the buyer into the sale - I helped re-rig Rocard, and fitted a Taylor's heater ( at their expense ) for our buyer on the strength of a deposit and trust. This would be pretty hard to accommodate with a third party in between.
Cheers,
Ex Rocard crew
