Yacht Rabelais
Cheoy Lee 47 feet |
|
Description
RABELAIS is a strong fast
cruising yacht, designed under CCA racing rules and with
the classic line of a truly beautiful yacht.
In 1993 the interior of RABELAIS was removed from her
racing version and rebuilt to accommodate a safe and
stable cruising yacht. The inclusion of a larger 85hp
Perkins engine, 2800 watt 110v inverter, larger tankage
and good range cruising gear made her ideal for serious
blue water sailing.
RABELAIS has recently completed a comfortable five year,
30,000 mile circumnavigation with a husband and wife
crew and school-aged son. Set up for short-handed
sailing, average daily runs of 150-180 Nm in trade wind
conditions were common. Her relatively deep draft and
fine underwater profile worked well and produced very
comfortable passages to windward.
We have found RABELAIS to be a safe, comfortable
classical cruising yacht with a good turn of speed and
most importantly, easy and fun to sail.
Recent refit work has seen her almost ready to head off
around the world again with only very little, work for
her next owner to do. |
