Yacht position reporting is used mainly by rallies or race organisations for safety reporting. However a growing trend is for individual yachts to report their positions so that families and friends can track their progress via websites. We have listed the main Yacht Reporting systems below.

ShipTrak position reporting

ShipTrak is a free service to family, friends and supporters of those out in the blue. When you enter a callsign in the callsign box, ShipTrak searches both the Yotreps and Winlink 2000 databases and then displays the reports on a map. It also sorts and displays the reports in text form. The user can also make a printable version of the map & text and can also zoom in or out for a better prospective of the ship position.

Winlink position reporting

Winlink 2000 Utilizes enabling technologies and sound operating practices to provide a full-featured radio digital message transfer system, worldwide, Show a plot of the position of any Winlink 2000 user who reports a position

YOTREPS position reporting

Pangolin

Let shoreside relatives and friends feel a part of your next voyage by plotting your daily positions on the web. The service is free. You need either onboard HF email or HF voice reporting to a contributing station.
