Yacht Communication Systems
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of email providers with either
free or pay-for services. There are also many systems that allow email
to be read by downloading to a device either over an ordinary
phone, a mobile or satellite phone. If you are looking for a new email
provider or method then check out below. We provide links to sites that
explain who is out there as email providers with explanations about the
different services available. We also provide links to specific systems
that are useful to the cruiser. Please let us know via
feedback of any other systems (not providers) you may have
used and would recommend to other cruisers. |

Pocketmail |
Pocketmail is a system that allows you to
write your emails on a handheld device and then dial into the service
using any type of phone worldwide to send and receive emails. To get the
system you first have to buy a device, then register it
to set up your account, (there is an annual charge). We are still using
this system after several years and we are very happy with it, you just
find a phone box or use a mobile phone and then transmit your
pre-prepared emails and download incoming mail. You can do this from
anywhere in the world. |
