We have listed the most popular cruising
nets in the table below. These include weather forecasting and position
reporting nets. However there are many nets not listed in this table but
can be found in the links below. See the links that provide lists of net schedules and frequencies for many
lesser known
nets at the bottom of the page.
Even though you need to be a HAM operator
to access HAM nets, you can still listen-in to get forecasts etc if you
do not have a HAM call sign.
Please let us know of any additional nets
or corrections via
feedback.

radio page

I have become aware through
operating our service, that many world and long term cruisers think –
before they leave home – that the only suitable HF-SSB communication
facility is the Amateur Radio service. This is not the case.

Brunei Bay Radio |
We operate a HF radio base in Asia, it
covers the NW Pacific, SE Asia, and Indian Oceans. We provide services
along the north and west coast of Australia and throughout the above
regions. My station is also hosts the regional SailMail gateway station.
Within a few months we expect to transmit weather information on
multiple channels/frequencies simultaneously, and have a telephone
interconnect service.
Penta Comstat (see below) and Brunei
Bay Radio provide Limited Coast Station services with voice
channels/frequencies from the Maritime HF-SSB radio scheme,
allocated by the ITU. These member services include weather
information, position reporting and telephone interconnect. Both
stations also provide the regional SailMail gateways covering the
South Pacific, North West Pacific and Indian Oceans, including SE
Asia, Australian coastlines, New Zealand, Japan and the South
Pacific Islands.
