Here is a section for Cruising Catamarans. This section is intended to provide information on Cruising Cats, and comparisons with their ability compared to monohulls. If you would like any sites added to this list please let us know.

Any opinions and comparisons of vessel safety is that of the relevant website owner, and is not necessarily that of Onpassage.com.

General Information
Cruisingcats.com Catamarans are faster! Say 15%-50% faster than a comparable cruising monohull.
Due to it's draft, the catamaran has a lot more water to use! How's 1.5' - 4'?
The vessel is more stable! Much more than 5 %. heel and something is wrong!
It's safer for quite a few reasons - lack of crew fatigue, unsinkability, etc.!
It's just more fun! Still not convinced? This subject can take books to adequately present but you can click on the following articles that really help understand why we are so thoroughly convinced about multihulls:

2Hulls

2Hulls has 100s of pages and 1000s of images dedicated to the catamaran and trimaran multihull aficionado. Buying, selling, chartering, fixing or refitting, experts - it's all there!
